Autumn colors and the cool freshness in the air is a welcome change after a very warm summer! It's a time to enjoy hot apple cider or hot cocoa, butternut and acorn squash, and cozy evenings! Summers tend to include more active outdoor activities, and autumn starts to bring us indoors more as it gets dark earlier and evenings cool down more.
Since we don't tend to be as active in autumn as in the summer, it's helpful to have a plan for getting plenty of cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise and muscle building activities. A health coach can help with ideas and strategies for staying active and healthy throughout all of the seasons.
If there is a sport that you enjoy and are familiar with, that's a great place to start to stay active. The key is finding or re-discovering an activity that you enjoy, so that it's sustainable for you to maintain consistent participation in that sport or activity. If you have a friend or partner that also enjoys that activity, then that's all the better! You can help motivate each other to stay active, and enjoy each others' company when you get together when you're active together.
Having a regular time that you workout together makes it easier to get into a routine that feels natural and is easier to maintain. If you actually schedule 3-4 times a week to be active, and put it on your calendar, then it becomes more of a priority and fits into your life more easily.
Make yourself a priority, and take little steps toward a more healthful and energizing lifestyle for the long run! And, if you would like help with this process, I am here for you!
